Description de l'offre

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) for an exciting opportunity to join the ECOHYDRO project, a European initiative focused on sustainable hydrogen storage solutions. This project aims to reduce hydrogen storage costs by developing recyclable storage systems based on filamentwound hydrogen tanks made from highstrength carbon fibers and thermoplastic resins. As part of the Design and Manufacturing of Advanced Composites (DMAC) research group, you will contribute to optimizing composite manufacturing processes, particularly in repair and postforming for prototype and concept demonstration. This role involves working closely with a consortium of 15 academic, research, and industrial partners. Key Responsibilities As a Researcher in Composite Manufacturing, your main responsibilities will include: • Optimize and develop manufacturing processes for composite structures using thermoplastic materials, focusing on repair and postforming techniques. • Investigate processinduced defects such as voids and delamination, and work on defect prevention. • Lead Design of Experiments (DoE) to optimize processes from theoretical models to prototype development. • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including experts in materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, and process engineering. • Analyze and interpret advanced characterization data (e.g., microtomography, mechanical testing). • Contribute to the conceptualization and demonstration of prototypes within the project consortium. Profile You have a Master’s degree or PhD in Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience also considered). • Strong background in composite processing, especially thermoplastic composites. • Experience with manufacturing processes and composite material characterization. • Proficiency in analyzing the thermophysical, structural, and physicochemical properties of composite materials. • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and lead research activities. • Strong project management skills, with the ability to supervise, coordinate, and analyze complex research activities • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities, particularly in translating experimental data into process improvements. • Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken. • Able to work independently and make proposals • An innovative spirit • Fluent in English (written and spoken). How to Apply? Please send us your application online, including: • Your CV and a motivation letter • A list of publications (if applicable). • Contact details of two references. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainable hydrogen storage technologies within a pioneering European project. Join the DMAC research group and help shape the future of composite manufacturing. Applications are reviewed continuously until the position is filled.
